Midorikawa Hikaru:
The Emotional Intricacy of Characters

Midorikawa Hikaru group banners

Welcome to the Midorikawa Hikaru yahoo group. (Which was deleted by stupid Yahoo in Dec '03, this link will take you to our new location. Please re-join!)

A group for the discussion of any Midorikawa Hikaru characters: Mikagami Tokiya (Flame of Recca), Mikage Souji (Shoujo Kakumei Utena), Schuldich (Weiss Kreuz), Tamahome (Fushigi Yugi), Zelgadis (Slayers), Rail Claymore (Lost Universe), Ail & Fiore (Sailor Moon), Heero Yuy (Gundam Wing), Faust (Saber Marionette J), Arai Tougo (Sotsugyou M), etc.

Why Midorikawa Hikaru? Tragedy, emotional depth, cold competence, so often his characters encompass this array and much more. But they can also touch upon humour and offer some of the loveliest eye candy available.

One tried to be better but inevitably inherited the practical tyranny of his predecessors. One killed himself emotionally after witnessing the murder of the last person close to him, and dedicated his life to revenge. Unfortunately he was being trained by the one person he lived to kill, and it was all part of the plan for creating a coldly competent killing machine. One wished for power, and got his wish -- at the expense of his humanity. One got his head wrapped up in games and mentally departed from reality, only to be completely erased from having ever existed when he could no longer be used. One thought he knew how to save humanity, but unfortunately those are the thoughts of a psychopathic megalomaniac.

So little information can barely reveal the depth of these characters. Only learning as much as possible and reflecting upon them can do so.

I'm sure we aren't nearly as pretentious as this page might make us sound.

The Mikage Souji & Mamiya background on this page was stolen from: Revolutionary Girl Utena Wallpaper

The Mikagami shot was screen capped by Battou-Chan of the Flame of Recca Museum
