DE Bios: Tim W. Brown

Tim W. Brown is a Chicago writer who has been involved in small press and zine publishing since the 1980s. In 1997 his first novel, Deconstruction Acres, was published; this past September his second, Left of the Loop, debuted. Walking Man, his third novel, is currently being shopped around to publishers.

Tim's poetry, fiction, and nonfiction has appeared in over 200 publications, including American Book Review, The Bloomsbury Review, and Small Press Review. His fiction tends toward satire and black comedy, and his work has been read in scores of venues both locally and nationally.

After cutting his teeth in the rough-and-tumble Chicago poetry scene, he edited and published Tomorrow Magazine, a magazine of underground and performance poetry, from 1982 to 1999.
