DE Bios: P.D. Cacek
One of P.D. Cacek's earliest memories is standing before a tiny
black-and-white television on Halloween night and almost choking
to death on a Tootsie-Roll pop when Boris Karloff, as the
Frankenstein monster, suddenly loomed into view. This, undoubtedly,
was the pivotal point that forever changed how she viewed the
world. A successful writer of horror and dark fantasy, "Trish"
(as she's known to her friends) has had stories published in
both commercial and small press as well as the anthologies: Grails:
The Visitations of the Night, Deathport, Return To The Twilight
Zone, Newer York, 100 Wicked Little Witches, Hotter Blood, Peter
S. Beagle's The Immortal Unicorn, David Copperfield's Tales Of
The Impossible, Desire Burn, Blood Muse, Gothic Ghosts, and
Whitley Strieber's Aliens (due in Spring). An Active Member of
both SFWA and HWA, Trish won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior
Achievement in the Short Story category, 1996, for Metalica
(Hotter Blood -Fear the Fever). Her first collection of short
fiction, Leavings, from StarsEnd Creations, is currently in
bookstores.
