Comments: Koenma, beginning to draw on the power of the Mafuukan to attack Sensui. Yuusuke had taken it from Koenma, and Sensui had in turn taken it from him. This didn't prevent Koenma from using it for a powerful attack, though. Here he'd snarled that Sensui should give it back to him and then began the attack. The colouring of this moment looks a lot more pinkish than yellow in the episode, from the FX layerings of flashing pink and blue lights caused by the Mafuukan. The kanji for Mafuukan, btw, translates to "Demon binding ring". It's Koenma's pacifier. This episode's title is probably a bit screwed up, due to confusion caused by a verb ending on release. Gomen!

Comments: Botan, "in disguise" as a fortune teller... though anyone but Yuusuke would be able to recognize her. Since Yuusuke is the one who sees her, and is therefore falling for the act, he wonders if telling her he's been dead for a while would rattle her. She responds to the unspoken question that it wouldn't, and that he has a mission to accomplish. Naturally he blows her off and doesn't officially learn that he's become a Reikai Tantei until later in the episode. I love the pretty colour balance of this cel, between the eyes, hair, and cowl.

Comments: MAJOR SPOILER!!!! Are you looking away yet? Ok, for those of you who aren't, this is Koenma at the moment of Yuusuke's second anime death, right when Sensui kills him. Koenma and then Genkai show the first reactions, before you even see onscreen that, yes, Yuusuke is dead yet again. And this time it really does mean the end of his humanity. A lot moreso than the first time, anyway. Impression might not be the right choice of words for the title, but since the death did have an effect on Sensui I thought it seemed a likely probability. It's also entirely possible that the line is sarcastic, since it's such a momentous episode.
