Nightwalker (Mayonaka no Tantei - Nightwalker)

The Details: Nightwalker starts off seeming a lot like, well, Night Stalker. Even some of the lines seem straight out of the old series, which I found highly amusing! It does become a bit more disturbed though. At the least, Shido used to be more of a murderous pervert, and is now stuck with his ex-boyfriend chasing him around. There must be some charm in that! I'll get around to saying more about this series later.

Comments: Cain is the first thing Shido sees (this cel), when he regains consciousness with his head in his lap. Cain had whipped him senseless (literally, with a whip) and was awaiting his return to the world of cognizance. This is from an episode that mostly covers a time when Cain and Shido were growing further apart, though the beginning and the end link it to a current time story of similar sentiment but different outcome. I, by the way, think this is an absolutely gorgeous cel. *happy sigh*

Comments: End of episode Spoiler! Poor Shido spent the entire episode (or for over 3 days, in real time) trapped in a well, protecting a little girl from a Breed who wanted her body. After escaping (looking a little bit battered by the end of it), he learned that the little girl is actually a Breed as well. Here he grits his teeth as she giggles off into the distance, escaping after the amusing show he provided her. Too bad, I suppose, that he was so good about not feeding off of her while ravenous. The below cel is from much earlier in the same episode.

Comments: A nice little close-up of the purdy Shido. Early in the well episode, the Breed Shido is trapped with startles him by asking what the difference is between a vampire who will suck the life out of humans and a Breed like him. Shido flashes back on having done that in the past, then snarls (looks snarly anyway, in this cel) and says he will never attack a human again. Shortly after this when the Breed says there's not a human who would accept him as their fellow man, there's another cel that looks completely identical to this. I can't tell which one this cel is, or if it's both of them.

Comments: A finger-biting Guni. When the cops arrested Ohtsuka Megumi, Shido got violent to prevent her from being taken. Immediately afterward he realised he had screwed up by hurting a human, but all he could do was grab her and run (up a building). Guni bites the hand of the cop who is holding her so she can follow them. She should look more green, and her hair more yellow, I'm not sure how the colouring of my scan turned out so wrong.
