There were numerous Clow Cards. They aren't exactly Clow Cards of the week, because they don't occur quite regularly enough all of the time and some of them later make reappearances. I don't collect them in card form, at least not yet, so here you'll see them in their critter forms. What few I get around to putting up for a while, that is. I haven't done as well with these as I have with Sailor Moon monsters of the week.
Episode #: 49: Sakura and the Dangerous Piano
Stats: 6 layers, unstuck, A1/B3/C11/D14/E11 (all) KEY END/H1 Size: Varies. Background: 15" wide x 14.25" tall. Biggest cel: 16.5" tall x 11.75" wide Sketches: 2 layout sketches, 1 set of notes. Background: Matching, unstuck Comments: The first transformed Sakura Card: Firey. As Sakura sleeps in, exhausted from the strain of transforming her first Sakura Card, Kero-chan watches the book open as Firey comes out. The shot zooms in on the card, panning up it and the shelf. Due to the many layers, this scan turned out pretty poorly. Particularly the airbrushed FX circle around Firey (which blobbed and miscoloured in nearly every possible way). Ah well! I might not have gotten all of the sequence numbers quite right on this one. I hadn't been planning to buy cels of cards (in card form) only, but quickly changed my mind when I saw this. The real cel looks good enough to be worth the pain in the butt it was to scan. |
Episode #: 20: Fight Between Sakura and the Transfer Student
Stats: 1 layer, A1 KEY Sketches: 1 matching, unstuck Comments: The Fight card, attacking. I tend to feel that this episode was a bit unfair to Meilin. Barring a brief entrance at the end of the previous episode, it is her debut. Having been away from Li for a while, and arriving to find him hopefully only competing with some girl (Sakura) who seems to hang out with him, she tried to prove her worth in capturing cards by sparring with Fight. And she did remarkably well, too. Sadly, she was hurt in the end and the job of capturing the card fell to Sakura who didn't fair quite as well against it in the first moments. As this cel occurs, she yells "Don't come here!" and, in a blind panic, coincidentally manages to hit Fight on the head and neck with her wand. The card should have gone to Meilin and Li, in my opinion. |

Episode #: 1: Sakura and Kero-chan's Strange Encounter
Stats: 2 layers, unstuck, A8/B8 Sketches: 1 matching (A8-Fly), unstuck Comments: The Fly card, getting defeated. With the help of Windy, this was the first card Sakura managed to capture. You can see that the B layer was slightly out of line when I scanned, the yellow ribbons from Windy should be going right up against its face but instead there is a slight gap. |
